My biological parents (who I love very much) made a very difficult decision. They decided that while they loved me, they just simply cannot keep me. They called their special friends, Lynne and Sean, and asked if they could adopt me. With heavy hearts, Lynne and Sean decided that they just weren't in a position where they do it (I am not sad though because they will still have a big role in my life). Lynne relayed the story to her friend Alicia. Alicia then decided that she needed to relay the story to my Daddy.
Alicia called my Daddy and asked if she could come to his office to drop some things off, which my Daddy thought was pretty unusual for someone in her position to do. Alicia came by his office a little bit later. As she was talking she mentioned how it was funny how God brings people together and you never know where relationships are going to lead, and how they had become friends through business. At that point, my Daddy thought maybe that they were firing his company as their collection agency and was trying to let him down gently since they are friends. She then started talking about Lynne and her children and if he knew that her youngest child was adopted. My Daddy was then frustrated and confused and did not know where the conversation was going. She then relayed the story about my biological parents and that Lynne and Sean were not in a position to adopt me. Alicia then asked if my Daddy if he and my Mommy would be interested in talking with my biological parents. My Daddy thought it was a wonderful proposition and immediately called my Mommy.
When my Daddy called my Mommy, she immediately asked why he was calling with such a silly question and to hurry up and let everyone know that we would love the opportunity to adopt the baby. Daddy wasted no time calling Alicia back to tell her that we would love to speak with Lynne about meeting the birth parents.
Lynne called my Daddy later that night to let us know that my biological parents wanted to meet them. Knowing that Daddy is the perpetual optimist, Mommy told him not to get too excited and tell everyone until my biological parents gave their blessings.
