Jabbering Jowls!!!

Seems that babies that get involved in car accidents don't have to go to Baby Jail. Mommy and Daddy wanted to make sure that I got one on one attention so I went to work before I went to the doctor's office. I got the official all clear from the doctor! Mommy seems to think all my blubber probably gave me extra protection in our near death experience yesterday. Guess what??? I now weigh 14 lbs 15.4 ounces!!! That's right, I gained well over a pound and a half since February 1.

Mommy thinks it's funny that I added to my early morning routine. Not only do I jabber, I like to flail my arms and legs. They make great pounding sounds in my bassinet. Daddy heard it for the first time last night and he sat straight up all worried about me. Ha!!

Where's My Crash Helmet??

What started out was an early jail break perpetrated by Mommy resulted in getting home at our usual time. Can you believe that some lady rear ended Mommy and me??? There we were waiting for a safe time to merge into traffic and that lady tried to push us out into traffic (okay, so maybe it wasn't intentional). What was she thinking?? I screamed when she hit us because she scared me! As soon as Mommy pulled over onto the shoulder I resumed trying to eat my hands and blanket (yeah, Mommy's brilliant decision to bust me out of baby jail earlier resulted in me not getting to finish my afternoon meal)! Aunt Patty was going to come rescue me from the side of the road but the police officer was quite efficient and got us back on the road rather quickly. Good thing that the police officer didn't know that Mommy busted me out of Baby Jail before I finished my daily sentence!

Daddy got home right after Mommy and I did (he came rushing home because Mommy called him while we were waiting for the police) and I just laughed and laughed about our little mishap this afternoon. For the record everyone, remember how Mommy trashed Daddy for running over the mailman? Isn't it ironic that she was in charge when I had my very first car accident?? I seem to be doing well but Mommy and Daddy are making me go to the doctor in the morning just to get the official all clear.

We had to go shopping tonight to get me a new car seat for Mommy's car. It seems that once a car seat is involved in a "crash" it shouldn't be used again. Mommy and Daddy aren't too sure what constitutes a "crash" but have decided that it's better to get me a new seat than to take any chances. My new car seat is wonderful!! I really like my new car seat and Mommy likes it too because it is lighter, slimmer and fits in my stroller (the one she had to get for her car...not my 4x4 all terrain stroller that Uncle Carl and Auntie Cash got for me..that one is too big for her car). Oh yeah, Mommy seems to be okay too. She wouldn't care if she was hurt anyway because all that matters to her is that I am safe and healthy. The car isn't too bad but Mommy and Daddy have been thinking about getting something different for a while now and I think today's events will cause them to super-size the MINI.

Well that was my day. Everyone remember to buckle up and make sure your babies are properly strapped in too! Oh yeah, Where's Joey and Jesse (a.k.a. Cousin Crash)? Hey Crash, when you come see me we can share accident stories!!

Wednesday Is Work Day!!

Hello everybody! Just wanted to give everyone an update on the latest happenings. I didn't have to go to Baby Jail on Monday because it was a holiday. I got to hang out with Mommy all day. Auntie Sommer came for a visit and brought me two presents!! That's right, two presents!! I have two new Dr. Suess books to add to my collection (Remember, Grandpa Len and Granny Bev got me a whole bunch for Christmas). Thanks Auntie Sommer!! Auntie Sommer noticed that I smiled a whole lot for a 12-week old. What can I say, I have a pretty cushy life and everyone loves me (Mommy and Daddy remind me of this at least a million times a day), so I have no reason not to have a smile on my face. I got to play in my Safari Baby Command Center today. I am thinking about having Mommy rotate my exersaucers just to keep things exciting and new. (No, I am not spoiled or demanding!)

Yesterday was blah because I was in Baby Jail. However, I did get to stare at Cecilia all day so a stay in Baby Jail was worth it!. I also got to meet one of my other neighbors last night. I wasn't too pleased with her holding me but as soon as I got back into Daddy's arms I was more than happy to charm her with my dashing smile! Guess what, she was an extra-special blessing to her Mommy and Daddy too just like me! While Mommy knows lots of other adoptive parents, she really likes being able to gain insight from the perspective of someone who was an adoptee.

Mommy actually woke up with the alarm clock today. While Mommy is pretty convinced I was "jabbering" at my mobile at 4:30 a.m. as usual and she was just too tired to notice because Daddy woke her up at 2:00 a.m. (yeah, that's right, it was Daddy not me). Daddy woke her up to ask her where my "nose sucker" was. My furry brother Rufus tried to help me out by hiding it from Mommy and Daddy. Mommy wasn't too pleased about having to look for it because Daddy could have done it himself. Rufus didn't do too good of a job hiding it because Mommy eventually found it. I do have to give Rufus credit though because he put it in a new place rather than trying to hide it under the washer. Rufus for future reference, the nose sucker is wider than the space between the washer and the floor. Hmmm....I may have to tell him to put it in his litter box because I know for a fact that Mommy won't let that near me if it ends up in there.

Since today is Wednesday, that means it was my "workday." Ms. Charlotte doesn't like the fact that Daddy is already making me hold down a steady job but I just LOVE going to work. Mommy says that since Daddy is the C.E.O., Auntie Kay is the C.O.O. and I must be the C.O.B. (that's Chief Operating Baby to all you)! I may be too young for a job but this job is pretty cushy. All I have to do is sit around and smile, cuddle with my godparents, let Uncle Carl and Auntie Kay entertain me and do the usual baby business. Can you believe it, I get paid to do this!!

Daddy forwarded Mommy an e-mail he recieved from Mrs. Jackie J., a woman he met while he was travelling a few weeks ago. It was a message for me that she tried to post as a comment on my blog but it didn't take. She wanted Daddy to share the message with Mommy and that if Mommy felt it was appropriate, she could post it on my blog. Mommy felt it was most appropriate! Mommy included it as a comment on this posting to share with everyone.

Well that is all for now. Oh yeah, since I haven't said it for a while...Where's Joey and Uncle Fester???

A Sock???

I got to hang out with Mommy this morning. Daddy was suppose to get up early with me but Mommy decided that she wanted to hang out with me instead of sleeping in some. We had a great time. I just smiled and smiled at Mommy. Daddy eventually got up and hanged out with us for a while. Mommy took a nap this afternoon and when she woke up she saw that I had one of her socks. Daddy said that I love to play with bibs and socks! Mommy wasn't too impressed and asked Daddy why on earth he wouldn't give me one of my toys to play with. I was much happier with my puppy silky than I was with that silly sock. I have a feeling that Daddy is pretty lucky that the sock was clean. We are just going to hang out today because the weather isn't that great. I get a long weekend this weekend because Monday is a holiday, which means no Baby Jail for me! Hurray for holidays!!

Happy Valentines Day!!

Today was my very first Valentine's Day! Mommy made sure that I looked "Valentiney" when I went to Baby Jail today. I got a great Valentine's Day book from Mommy and a singing winged Crocodile from Daddy today! I really really love my present from Daddy. It sings a song about Cupid and it just cracks me up! Mommy told Daddy that they need to remember to check the volume of toys before they get them for me.

Mommy made sure that I had presents for the other kids in daycare and for my teachers today. I gave everyone Valentine's rattles and chocolates for my teachers. I had Mommy put a heart over the "I" in McKenzie's name because I think she is pretty special. I got all kinds of Valentine's Day cards from everyone else in the class. Apparently Cecilia loves me! I understand why she loves me but who's Cecilia?? I even got a lollipop from one of the older students but Mommy already told me that I can't have it and by the time I am old enough to have it that I probably wouldn't want it. I don't think Mommy really understands that I am a guy and the fact that the lollipop will be very old by the time I am ready for it that I would eat it anyway.

Mommy busted me out of Baby Jail super early today! Yeah Mommy!! We surprised Aunt Patty by dropping in on her at work so I could say Happy Valentine's Day and cuddle with her for a little bit. Uncle Fester was working so I couldn't say "What's Up Dude?" to him. Maybe he will come see me this weekend though.

Baby Gets The Boot!!

I woke up absolutely starving today. I ate twelve ounces in an hour. Mommy tried to cut me off at eight but I wasn't going to have any of that cutting off business. When Mommy went to get a shower she told Grandma Dale and Daddy not to let me have any more to eat because my eyes are way bigger than my belly. Well, when Mommy reappeared twenty minutes later there I was with a bottle! Daddy and Grandma Dale just can't resist my pleas. Mommy says they were not pleas, they were oinks! Maybe someone needs to explain to Mommy that I am a growing boy!

Mommy, Daddy, Grandpa Jim, Grandma Dale went to church together today! Some of us stayed longer than others! I was having a tantrum so Mommy and I went back to the car while the others attended the service. Give me a break, all I wanted to do was sleep. Mommy then pointed out that there is no reason why I can't be like half of the congregation and sleep during the service. Now she tells me!!!

Mommy assembled my Safari Exersaucer for me today. Yep, I have two Exersaucers!! Santa brought me my Baby Einstein Exersaucer and Aunt Terri, Uncle Tom, Jake and Brooke got me the Safari one. I get to use my Safari one upstairs in Mommy's office so that I have something to play with when she needs to get some work done. The good thing about my Safari Exersaucer is that it easily folds up so I can take it to the office with me too!

Auntie Norma and Uncle Jerry surfaced tonight. I got my first Valentine's present too! I also got some neat little toys from Uncle Jerry. I smiled at them briefly and then let them feed me before I finally drifted off to sleep.

Well, I am hanging out with Daddy tonight because Mommy has some work to do for tomorrow. Speaking of which, when Mommy went up to her office tonight she heard Sebastian meowing. Turns out he got locked in the closet several hours ago. Mommy better pay closer attention!! Especially since she knows Sebastian loves to sneak into closets!

Daddy Is So Funny!!!

Daddy assembled the present Santa brought for me because Ms. Charlotte told Mommy that I love to sit in the exersaucer while in Baby Jail. Mommy took the picture of me when Daddy was telling me a very funny story. Daddy just cracked me up! Anyway, I just love my present from Santa. There are all kinds of cool things to look at and play with on my Baby Einstein exersaucer. I am not quite ready for it yet but Mommy helps me get my balance by putting a blanket in it with me to help me keep my balance. I have already figured out how to make it rock and how to turn the seat to look at different toys!

Grandpa Jim and Grandma Dale came to visit. They were very happy to see me! I got to show off my new toy and they even watched my Baby Mozart DVD with me! They were impressed with how alert I am and how I paid attention to the different scenes in the Baby Mozart DVD. Grandma Dale corrected Daddy's Lithuanian. Apparently he has been calling me a "button" for a long long time. He should have listened to Mommy when she told him to stop calling me "kizukis" because she didn't think he had it right. Of course Mommy was right! Grandma Dale set him straight though and has taught him the proper word for "baby."

Well that was my day!!!

Daddy To The Rescue!!

It rained and snowed today! Mommy and Daddy were worried about me being in Baby Jail and the possibility that the roads could get bad. I wasn't worried though because I knew that Mommy or Daddy would come get me long before the roads could get bad. You know what? I was right, Daddy came and busted me out of Baby Jail early this afternoon. I was so happy to see him!!! Uncle Lenny tried to carjack and babyjack Daddy when he was outside. He's lucky Daddy didn't open a can of whip "apples" on him! Uncle Lenny came inside to see my cell in Baby Jail. I wasn't too impressed with Uncle Lenny's presence (Well, I really was but I couldn't let my cellmates know how happy I was that I had a visitor). Good thing Uncle Lenny didn't give me my kisses in front of my buddies. I don't mind that Mommy gives me lots of kisses in there because they all understand that that is just the way Mommies are.

I got to hang out with Daddy this afternoon. I was glad when Mommy got home though because she knows my afternoon routine a little bit better than Daddy. (Don't worry Daddy, you know my midnight routine better than Mommy)

Grandpa Jim and Grandma Dale are coming tomorrow. I can't wait!

It's About Time Daddy!!

Daddy's home!!!! Finally! I sure missed him. He even brought me a present!! I got a Dr. Suess Pops Up Book as a reward for taking care of Mommy, Sebastian and Rufus! I just smiled and smiled and smiled at my Daddy. He asked me how McKenzie was doing and I just giggled!!! Mommy told Daddy that I did a very good job of being the man of the house while he was gone. The other night I woke up at 3:30 a.m. but I didn't want to bother Mommy so I just entertained myself for a while. I have to make myself remember that Mommy hears everything and heard me playing in my bassinet. She finally decided I wasn't going to cry, so she got up and made me my bottle without having to ask! I was starving but was willing to wait until a decent hour to ask for something to eat. Mommy told me that it is okay to holler at any time just as long as I am truly hungry or having some other problem. I suspect that she said that only because the primary night nanny (Daddy) is back! Aw, I am just kidding...Mommy adores me and will get up with me anytime I want!

Well, that is my big news. My Grandpa Jim and Grandma Dale are coming this weekend and I can't wait!!!

Super Sunday!!

It's update time...I had a great day Saturday. I slept through the night!! Mommy and Daddy were very pleased with my decision to sleep like a big boy. Daddy got up with me at 6:30 a.m. so Mommy could sleep in (Daddy says it's because I got her up at 3:30 the day before and she couldn't go back to sleep afterwards). Daddy and I had a great time! We ate a little, cuddled a little, ate a little, cuddled a little and watched Sponge Bob! I love Sponge Bob! Guess what else we did??? We made Mommy pancakes. Yup! Mommy woke up to a great morning. Sebastian and Rufus kept Mommy company until she woke up. Then she came out to the living room and saw that I was totally happy with hanging out with Daddy. Then she realized we made her pancakes. She sure was surprised. She wasn't hungry but she didn't have the heart to tell us that. Anyway, later in the day Mommy and I went shopping. Naturally, we only bought stuff for our favorite person, ME!! Well that's not exactly true because we got Daddy some cantaloupe.

Daddy got up again with me this morning. Yes, I slept through the night again thank you very much! Daddy has to go on a business trip so he wanted Mommy to be able to get a little extra rest. Mommy says I will be the man of the house in Daddy's absence. I figure I have the job down pat because I don't have to do anything but sit around and look cute. Daddy made me watch Jimmy Neutron this morning but I wasn't too into it. When Mommy got up she put Sponge Bob on for me. I really do love Sponge Bob, now if I can only convince Mommy that it is okay for me to watch it.

Tonight Aunt Patty and Uncle Lenny came by to watch my very first super bowl with me. I wasn't too impressed and went to sleep. Aunt Patty held me almost the entire time because she knows how mad I would be if I found out she put me down for longer than absolutely necessary.

Well that is all for now. Oh yeah, Where's Joey?

OUUCCCHHHH!!

THEY WERE MEAN!!! I should have been real suspicious when Mommy busted me out of Baby Jail early today. First, I had to wait for my early afternoon food fest because Mommy got there while my bottle was warming up. Then she puts me in the car and drives off. The whole time she was acting as if the two of us were just going to hang out and get some extra cuddling. Did that happen??? NO!!! (Well not at that exact moment in time anyway). So she takes me into the doctor's office, checks us in and then takes us to the waiting room. I should have figured out that it was going to be BAD since Daddy wasn't there to meet us. For all I knew, something could have been wrong with Daddy. Mommy was entertaining me when I heard a lady call my name. Then it hit me, we were there for ME! So they take me back to the back and make me take off my clothes! There I sat in my diaper. How embarrassing! I screamed because I knew something bad was about to happen. Just then, Daddy walked in the door and I was absolutely certain that it really was going to be bad!

So Mommy and the nurse carry me off and make me lay down on the scale. Ladies, I am not meat! I don't need to be on a meat scale. Anyway, Mommy and Daddy both smile when they see I am 13 lbs and 5 ounces. Not bad for a boy who wasn't feeling good last week! Oh yeah, I am suppose to be upset right now...So they carry me back to the room where I finally get my bottle. Then the doctor comes in. All that man ever does is poke and prod me! They measured my head and my body. My head is 15 5/8 inches and I am 24 3/8 inches long. Well ahead of my age group! I had to smile at that news. Mommy said I shouldn't get too excited because this may be the only time I am the tallest boy in my age group.

The doctor then wanted to check my mouth out. Lucky for him I was holding it wide open for him! He finally told Mommy that she could pick me up and comfort me. Well, that was extremely rude because he then sent the nurse in with four ENORMOUS NEEDLES! She then proceeded to stab me twice in both legs! Mommy couldn't bear to watch, so Daddy stood over me while Mommy peeked at me over his shoulder! Can you believe it, Daddy just stood there an let that lady STAB me FOUR TIMES!!! I went nuts when the lady did that. Come to think of it, just the memory of it makes me want to scream all over again. Mommy finally got me to settle down by assuring me that just as soon as I settled down we could get out of there! So what did I do?? I am no fool, I settled down and we got out of there!

My new food seems to be doing the job. The doctor says that I can go back to using the first one he switched me to last week, which is cheaper. The doctor thinks all babies should be on my new stuff but it's just so expensive. While Mommy and Daddy are going to try me again on the formula he put me on last week, Mommy says she is perfectly happy giving me the stuff that I am on now because at least that way, she knows I am doing well on it. Why mess with my system just to save a few dollars??

Oh yeah, in case I didn't mention it before. They moved my crib at Baby Jail. I don't get to hang out next to McKenzie all day anymore. Guess who's big head I get to look at all day??? Yup, you guessed it...Charles. Mommy is making it a point though to make sure she places me in the crib each morning where I can stare at McKenzie. Mommy can't guarantee that I get to see McKenzie's pretty little face all day but at least she tries!

I get to go to Kay Care again tomorrow so I can tell her and Uncle Carl all about today's trauma. Ms. Charlotte is going to clobber Daddy for busting me out of Baby Jail twice in one week!

Well that is all for now. Oh yeah, Where's Joey??

P.S. Auntie Norma is FIRED!!! Auntie Norma, Mommy told me to tell you something about BEEs but I can't spell it correctly. She says you will know what she is talking about. HA! HA!
