Voter Intimidation!!!

I have been very adamant to Mommy and Daddy that I am a man now and I should have my say. Apparently Mommy finally paid attention to the fact that I am all grown up. Mommy and I went to vote this evening because I always escort her to the polls. Mommy filled out one side of the ballot (constitutional issues because that is her forte) and I filled out the other side because I am a people person. I told Mommy which circles to color and she colored them!

I must admit that she didn't let me truly vote for the people I wanted to vote for and she tried to intimidate me and get me to change my mind about the circles I picked to be colored. I kept picking Green Party candidates to vote for and she insisted that if I was going to try to assert my authority as a man that I had to act like a man and not waste my vote on political distractions and stick with the "real" political parties. Can you believe that she tried several times to get me to change my votes after she insisted that I only pick between the two "real" parties??? I stood my ground though and made her color the circles that I wanted. She wasn't real happy with my choices but backed off of further intimidating me into changing my selections. Only Mommy and me know who I voted for....well okay, maybe the election official knows who I voted for by the Cheetos marks I left on the circles.

I just hope all of you went out there and voted for the right candidates. I will sleep better tonight knowing that I performed my civic duty by casting my ballot on Election Day...well okay, so technically it was Mommy's ballot but the election officials aren't as progressive as Mommy. Maybe next time we will get the voting age lowered so I can cast my very own ballot.

P.S. Shame on all of you who voted early (yeah, that means you Aunt Lili, Uncle Frank and Jesse). It is unamerican to cast early ballots. Next time stand in line and feel the excitement on ELECTION DAY either that or join the military and send in an absentee ballot.
